Caste Based Reservation in India
Definition: Reservation in India is the process of
facilitating the person in education, scholarship, jobs, and in promotion who
have category certificates.
The Supreme Court of India ruled that reservations could not
exceed 50%. However each state has their own limits and can exceed 50%.
A survey by the National Sample Survey Organization (NSSO)
put the OBC population in the country at 40.94%, the SC population at 19.59%,
ST population at 8.63% and the rest at 30.80%.
Hence:
1.
Total % population of OBC+SC+ST = 69.2%.
2.
Total constitutional reservation percentage =
49.5%.
Statistics:
If the total number of seats for a competition is 100.
1.
On the basis of population OBC+SC+ST will get
69.2% seats = 69.2 seats. [Now we are left with 30.8 seats].
2.
On the
basis of reservation OBC+SC+ST will get 49.5% of leftover seats = 30.8 * 49.5%
= 15.246 seats.
So, the total actual number of seats for OBC+SC+ST = 69.2 +
15.246 = 84.446 seats.
Hence the % reservation for OBC+SC+ST
= 84.446%. And rest seats 15.554% are for except OBC+SC+ST.
Now this process will be iterated at least 3 times:
1. Reservation in educational institution is 49.5%.
2. Reservation in Job is 49.5%.
3. Reservation in promotion, scholarship etc.
Side effect of this reservation system:
1.
This is very important card for politicians in
election for divide and rule policy.
2.
A lot of money aid are allotted for OBC+SC+ST,
but those money never goto actual person.
3.
To make these certificates a lot of money is
spent every year.
4.
This is one of the important reason caste system
is still remains in India and causing many bad incidents.
You can find more consequence on YouTube and Google searches.
